Why is the Genesis Theme, “Cypherphunk” and what’s a Cypherhunt?
Cypherphunk
The Cypherphunk pays hommage to the Cypherpunks of the late 80s to 90s — cryptographers who supported free speech and privacy. Those principles are the bedrock on which the blockchain and NFTs rest.
It’s also a polysemic ode to the cyphers of hip-hop, the ciphers found in musical cryptograms, and the future-tech, dystopian cyberpunk genre. Pretty good way to kick off an evoltionary recurring music festival, aye? (credit MVMF)
Cypherhunt
- Step One(1): Getting There
Report to the Mask Museum in Cryptovoxels.
- Step Two (2): Solving an example
Stroll around a bit and check out the placards underneath each Mask. Find the Hashmask named, Robocorn. The example below shows how to identify a cypher word. This word would be categorized as “Robocorn5.6” because participants will need to identify the 5th word from the Robocorn placard and write down the sixth letter (“r”).
Now find Lucyintheskywithdiamonds1.3. (“e”)
Proceed to Draco8.8 (“k”). Please note that numbers are counted as words.
Last one, Dali7.5. Did you count the number 22 as a word to find the final letter? (“t”)
- Step Three (3) Assemble the letters to form a word
Robocorn5.6 + Lucyintheskywithdiamonds1.3 + Draco8.8 + Dali7.5 = “rekt”
- Step Four (4) Submit your Cypherhunt entry
Proceed to the Mask DAO Discord and input your answer (not “rekt”) in the MVMF channel.
The Mask Museum Cypherhunt is Afoot
Contestants will have twenty four (24) hours from the time this article is posted on Twitter to solve the Cypherhunt and submit their answer in the Mask DAO Discord. Please note: Berlin is a space between words. Good luck!!
